What is Dying Peacefully?

This is a service I offer to people who are in the final stage of life.  The purpose of a session is to assist a person on their spiritual journey through death.

Dying isn’t something that’s talked about very often.  Everybody knows they’ll experience it one day and yet it’s not something that people want to think about, let alone discuss.  The topic of death remains unexplored and mysterious for most of us.  This allows all sorts of fears to take hold which only come to the surface when someone is at the end of their life and facing death.  At that time, a person’s fears about dying can become overwhelming for them.  Some fear they will cease to exist when their body dies. Others are scared about the actual process, or terrified of where they may end up.

Another aspect that is challenging for people as they near death is letting go. They don’t want to let go of the people and animals they love, or the life they are used to living.

The internal struggles that result from fear and the inability to let go can lead to states of confusion, agitation and distress.  This can be a lot to cope with for someone who is in the process of dying.  It can also be upsetting for those who love them.

Dying Peacefully isn’t about performing miracles and bringing someone back from the brink of death. It’s about helping a dying person to move from a state of resistance to one of peace and acceptance.  It’s about helping someone to die peacefully.

When my work first branched into this area, it was completely unexpected.  Yet over the years, it’s become one of the most personally rewarding aspects of my work.

What happens during a session?

Each session is unique, but it’s usually a combination of talking to the dying person and doing energy work on them to make their passage through death easier.  The energy work is similar to a normal energetic healing, but in this case I focus on clearing out energetic debris without interfering with the energy body’s natural withdrawal process.  As a person nears death, their energy body begins to diminish and disengage from their physical body.

Even if a person is in an unconscious state and can’t communicate via normal means, their consciousness is still present.  In this case, I talk with them by connecting to their consciousness at a psychic level.  I listen to their concerns and I calm their fears by explaining what’s happening to them spiritually and what they can expect.

These sessions are designed to soothe and calm a person as they near death. There’s no reason for anyone to fear death itself.  It can be a beautiful and gentle experience.

By the time I finish a session, there’s usually a palpable sense of peace in the room and the dying person is at ease about letting go and moving into the next stage of their journey.
